Although not licensed funeral directors, these members of our staff are vitally important toward the operation of our firm. These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to expect from us.

Cathy has been with the firm since 1999 and currently manages all administrative functions at our Smiths Falls location. She also acts as office receptionist during visitation times. Cathy is very active in her parish of St. Francis de Sales Church, through her work as permanent church organist, and member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Women's League.

Pat Deacon, Funeral Director's Assistant

Pat has been with the firm for over eight years where she handles many of the administrative duties at our Perth Chapel.  She is also actively involved in assisting on many funeral services, both in the Perth and Lanark areas.  Pat is very familiar with the families in the Lanark area as Pat’s family once owned the Young Funeral Home in Lanark, now a part of Blair & Son.


Anne Bolton, Office Administration

Anne joined Blair & Son in 1984 taking on the responsibility of office administration and accounting for all our funeral homes and the Blair & Son Furniture Store. Anne lives in Port Elmsley with her husband Len. They enjoy traveling, biking and hiking throughout the region. Anne and Len attend St. Paul's United Church in Perth.

Terry St. Pierre, Funeral Director's Assistant

After retiring from the communications centre for the O.P.P. in Perth Terry joined our staff. On May 8th, 2008 Terry has been with us for 20 years. Terry takes care of our out town transfers and assists on many funerals.  Terry enjoys the outdoors, and is an avid hunter.

Wayne Kearns, Funeral Director's Assistant

After retiring from the Rideau  Regional Wayne  joined our staff in September of 2010. Wayne  takes care of our out town transfers and assists on many funerals.  Wayne enjoys golf, and time with his family.

Fred Knapp, Funeral Director's Assistant

Fred joined our staff in 2009. We are proud to have Fred join our staff. Fred takes care of our out town transfers and assists on many funerals. Fred is very active in his community of Elizabethtown-Kitley Twp. working on many volunteer projects and is a member of the Toledo United Church.

Cathy Cassell, Receptionist

Cathy joined our staff as an office receptionist and funeral reception facilitator. When not taking in memoriam donations, she facilitates post funeral receptions, in preparing the food presentation, and assisting family needs during the reception. Cathy enjoys the outdoors, often camping and fishing with her husband Art.


Joan Adam, Office Administration

Joan has been a member of the organization since 2002 where she assists in both the administrative and business office.  Joan also assists with various funeral-related duties including assisting with taking memorial donations and assisting at services.

Hilda Sproule, Receptionist

Hilda joined the firm over 16 years ago and assists with preparation for visitation, and receiving memorial donations on behalf of the families we serve.  Hilda is well-known in the Perth and Lanark Communities where she volunteers her time to many local charities and groups and enjoys time out on the golf course.

Florence Doran, Reception Hostess

Florence joined the firm in 2003; she is involved with the preparation and presentation of many post-funeral gatherings in our reception centre at the Perth Chapel.  Florence also devotes many hours to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 244 located in Perth.

Ann Buchanan, Receptionist

Following retirement as a school teacher with the St. John's Catholic Elementary School, Ann began working at Blair & Son in 2003.  Ann’s primary role is assisting with visitation and taking memorial donations for many local charities.  Ann still devotes several days a year as a supply teacher and is an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Perth.

Mae Craig, Receptionist

Mae joined the firm in 1974.  She looks after not only reception duties at the Lanark Chapel but oversees building and ground maintenance.  Mae and her husband George have been long-time residents of Lanark.  She has been actively involved in many volunteer projects in Lanark and Perth including Branch # 244 Legion Ladies Aux. and colour party in Perth.

Valerie Conboy, Reception Hostess

Valerie became a member of our organization in 2005; with the inception of the Blair & Son Family Centre, Valerie takes care of the preparation and presentation of many post-funeral gatherings.  Valerie is actively involved with the Perth Fair and Fair Board as well as various agricultural programs and initiatives in Lanark County.    

Donna Cadeau, Receptionist

Donna joined our team in November of 2009, after working for the Unity Savings Credit Union for 18 years.  Donna's primary role is assisting with visitation and taking memorial donations for many local charities.  Donna loves spending time with her family traveling and golfing.

Heather Bovington, Receptionist

Heather was born and raised in Perth. Heather attended both Queen Elizabeth School and Perth and District Collegiate institute while growing up. Heather is married to Mark Bovington and has three children. Staying at home to raise her children and helping with the care of  other peoples children kept Heather busy for over twenty years. Heather's primary role is assisting with visitation and taking memorial donations for many local charities and occasionally assisting in our reception centre

Debbie Hamilton, Building Maintenance

Debbie is also responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of our Smiths Falls facility. Debbie has a very full schedule with her cleaning business and raising two teenage sons at home.
